The Libertines have revealed the full details of their highly anticipated second album. Called simply The Libertines, it will be released on August 30 on Rough Trade Records. The full tracklisting is: Can't Stand Me Now, Last Post On The Bugle, Don't Be Shy, The Man Who Would Be King, Music When The Lights Go Out, Narcissist, The Ha Ha Wall, Arbeit Macht Frei, Campaign Of Hate, What Katie Did, Tomblands, The Saga, Road To Ruin, What Became Of The Likely Lads. Meanwhile, Libertines co-frontman Pete Doherty has announced a couple of gigs in London following his return to the UK from Thailand where he was supposed to be undergoing treatment for drug addiction. Doherty will be playing a special gig 'with friends' under the title Pete On Parole at Filthy McNasty's where tickets will be £10. And he plays with his Babyshambles side project at the Rhythm Factory in Whitechapel on Monday, June 28. Tickets: £12. In a post on his Babyshambles.com website, Doherty said his health was improved and he even speculated that The Libertines' cancelled festival dates may still take place. He said: "I'm healthier and more together, just need to show the lads I can hold it together and maybe we can do the festivals. Wouldn't it be lovely?" Carl Barat - at this week's Mojo Awards - felt it was unlikely the scrapped festival slots would be reinstated but stressed his support for his musical partner. "Ten minutes is a long time in the Libertines, so you never know what could happen. He is always part of the band, of course he is. The band wouldn't be the band if he wasn't," he told the BBC. |
