| Eyesight too poor to skin a cat |
A 91-year-old man has been reported to police after he told his optician that his eyesight was no longer good enough to skin a cat.
Former tanner Ioan Lupu, from Riusor, near Fagaras in Romania, told the optician that he had been living off cats for years and that while his eyesight was still good enough to catch them, it was "getting too fiddly to get the skin off".
Neighbours had already suspected Lupu of kidnapping their pets after strange smells started coming from his home - police found the unpleasant smells came from the animals he had been boiling to soften up their skins.
