A New Zealand man who hit a metal object while digging the garden was shocked to find it was a four tonne tank. Emanuel Hurley, of Ohaupo, Waikato, had hit a Second World War bren-gun carrier, reports Stuff.co.nz. His wife Jane said: "He started uncovering it, thinking he could pull whatever it was out, but he had no luck. "Then a friend made it his mission to uncover whatever it was. He had a go at it every day or so and slowly exposed it." She took photographs and was editing them on the computer in their antique shop when a customer identified it as a bren-gun carrier. "The things you find in your garden," she said. "Who knows, we might even put a swimming pool in." |
