A Romanian woman has been fined £40 after breaking her father-in-law's hand in a row over their football teams. Dana Sofronea, 28, and Constantin Sofronea, 59, from Belcesti in eastern Romania were watching Villareal play Steaua Bucharest in the UEFA Cup. Dana, a Villareal supporter, lost her temper and attacked her father-in-law for cheering on Steaua, Mediafax agency reported. Constantin Sofronea said: "I kept cheering Steaua while watching the match on TV. My daughter in law, who is soon to leave for Spain to work, started a fight with me saying that Villareal should win and that Steaua are just a bunch of losers. "The whole argument escalated at some point and she started to beat me. I didn't really fight back because she looks quite fragile. But she broke my hand." Local police, who were called out by neighbours who heard the pair fighting, charged the woman with causing a disturbance and fined her 40 pounds.
