A man from Kent claims he found a £12,000 ring in some cooking sauce.

Kevin Luetchford says he was cooking a meal for his girlfriend with Chicken Tonight sauce when he came across the ring reports The Sun.

He had the ring valued and was told it is 150-years-old and worth £12,000.

He says he would like to track down the owner, he said: "This is likely to be a family heirloom. Someone must be frantic with worry."

Unilever, which owns Chicken Tonight makers Knorr, said it was investigating how it got into the sauce.
