 Ananova:
Nazi designer claims credit for VW

A former Nazi graphic designer is suing Volkswagen because he says he designed the famous VW logo in 1939.

Nikolai Borg, 86, who now lives in Austria, says he can prove his involvement in the development of the VW logo 65 years ago.

He claims to have received the assignment from senior Nazi official Franz Todt and says he has letters to prove it.

Borg claims to have a letter from the company acknowledging his work and saying that the final version of the logo was to be postponed until the end of the war.

He does not, however, have the original drawings, but will build his case on the testimony of two witnesses who have read the correspondence.

He said: "I am not after any money. I just want to live to see my work acknowledged."

The legal case begins next week in a Vienna court.
