A Russian man has been sentenced to a year's community service for stealing two pork chops from his flatmates' fridge.

Valery Fefelkin, 46, was caught stealing from flatmates Andrei and Maria Osipov after they installed a secret camera.

They hid the camera in the kitchen after noticing food was disappearing from their own separate fridge.

In court in Moscow, Fefelkin claimed he had mixed up his fridge with the Osipovs' fridge after coming home from a night boozing with pals.

He was ordered to do one year's community service and pay his flatmates £20 in compensation for the stolen meat.
