Managers of a Colombian electricity company have agreed a little girl's plea to spend Christmas with the lights on. Daniela Cadavid, 10, wrote to the manager of the Medellin-based company begging him to reconnect the power supply for the festive season. The girl lives with her mother and for the past year they have had no electricity in the house because they can't afford to pay the bill. In her letter Daniela, wrote: "My father is a drunk and drug addict and my mother threw him out. "I'm selling candies at my school so I can gather money to pay the debt and have the lights on for Christmas this year." The electricity company's manager, Juan Felipe Gaviria told Las Ultimas Noticias that the letter touched all the employees' hearts. They decided to share the girl's family's £10 debt so she can have light again. |
