Annie Lennox has blasted a newspaper report that she mistook Orlando Bloom for an obsessed fan.

A tabloid report claimed the singer snubbed Bloom at the screening of Woody Allen's Annie Hall in London

after the actor asked her for an autograph.

She allegedly told him "I just want a quiet night. Please leave me alone and get a life."

But, on her official website, Annie said the story was "completely untrue", adding, "Of course I know who Orlando Bloom is!

"We sat next to each other throughout the film. We had a really nice two minute chat.

"There's not a shred of truth in any of it. Bizarre. Why would anyone invent a piece of nonsense like that?"
