 Ananova:
Pensioner's motorway nightmare

Ten squad cars were needed to stop a German pensioner who was speeding down an autobahn in the wrong direction.

The 82-year-old drove over 40 miles in the wrong direction between Hamburg and Luebeck on the A1 motorway.

Police say he ignored the many blue lights and sirens following him and even flashed his headlights at oncoming motorists.

The man finally pulled over when the police used ten cars to form a road block.

Police say he tested negative on both drug and alcohol tests and appeared to be in good physical and mental health.
