Police in Serbia are patrolling mass meetings of football fans swapping picture stickers of their favourite football stars. Hundreds of adult fans meet each other twice a week in Belgrade city centre to exchange pictures of World Cup stars. And because the numbers are so large organisers have been forced by local bylaws to register the gathering, meaning they have been assigned a police presence. Serbian Milena Jeguljic explained: "We meet in front of the Moscow Hotel in Belgrade to exchange pictures of players. We save money while swapping pictures that we already have for some we don't have." Local media said many people at the gatherings, which are expected to go on every Saturday and Sunday up until the start of the tournament in Germany in June, have been collecting stickers of World Cup stars for decades. Local daily Kurir claimed fans had been encouraged by news that FIFA president Sepp Blatter was a collector of World Cup stickers himself and needs just seven more to complete a collection of World Cup stickers.
