Ananova:

A German city is to put polling booths in pubs to try and counter voter apathy.

Authorities also want to enable people to vote in petrol stations and shopping centres.

It is part of a bid to promote higher voter turnout at an upcoming local election in the northern state of Bremen.

Christian Weber, of the Bremen Social Democratic Party, said: "We want to give elections more of an event feel."
