A Bosnian town plans to erect a massive monument to its most important product - cabbage.

Mayor of Bijeljina, Mico Micic, said local cabbage producers wanted to honour the vegetable, which is a staple food for the Balkan country.

Micic said: "We have agreed to the plans to erect a monument to cabbage. It is the vegetable that feeds the people in this region and is important. It deserves recognition."

The giant cabbage monument, to be designed by local artists, will be unveiled sometime next year, Micic said.
