A Florida schoolteacher has been put on probation for charging pupils bribes to let them skip PE. Tamara Tootle charged students a dollar a day to miss PE lessons, reports the Pensacola News Journal. She was sentenced to three years' probation, ordered to perform 300 hours of community service and banned from teaching for three years. Tootle, a physical education teacher at Ernest Ward Middle School, admitted six felony counts of third-degree bribery. She told students they could skip PE classes but still receive a grade of 100% for a dollar a day. Tootle was arrested in April after another Ernest Ward PE teacher arrested for bribery told officials she had also been charging students bribes. Escambia School District spokesman Ronnie Arnold said both teaches had paid "a heavy price for a poor decision".
