 Ananova:
Man sells kidney to see World Cup

An Indian man is selling one of his kidneys to raise funds to go to the West Indies to watch the World Cup Cricket.

Garment salesman Sarun Sharma, of Jamshedpur, is hoping to be paid about £3,500 for a kidney.

He says the prospective buyer will have to pay in advance and will get the organ only after he returns from the West Indies.

The Press Trust of India reports the 23-year-old said: "I am really serious. I am prepared to give one of my kidneys in lieu of money, as I want to go to West Indies to see India playing in the World Cup.

"What's wrong with the offer? I know several people who are living with one kidney. My family cannot afford to fulfill my wishes."
