A groom who turned up drunk to his wedding in India was replaced by his more sober brother.

The younger sibling readily agreed to marry the teenage bride at her family's request, reports Metro.

The original groom had been 'misbehaving with guests when the bride's family and villagers chased him away' in a village in Bihar state's Arwal district, a police spokesman said.

"The groom apologised but has been crying that word will spread and he will never get a bride again," he added.
