Two pensioners who won a £2.4m lottery jackpot have revealed they are to splash out - on new knees. Tony and Greta Dodd both suffer from dodgy knees and were on the waiting list for NHS for replacements. But, on the back of their big win, they have now booked in for private operations next week, reports the Daily Mirror. Tony, 67, said: "We're both ecstatic. As soon as it sank in that the win's for real we decided the first thing we want is a new pair of knees each. "We have both been told that our knees are just worn out. Mine went first and now Greta's have gone the same way. "Walking any distance can be agony. I've been on the NHS waiting list for six months and up to now I've heard nothing, not even a proposed date for an operation." Doctors told them they could have private ops straight away - but Tony and Greta, 69, want to celebrate their windfall first. Retired cabbie Tony, from Wallasey, Merseyside, said: "We are going to get really legless first - then get those new pairs of legs."
