 Ananova:
Gun-toting schoolkids to get dead bodies punishment

School children in LA who are caught with guns will be forced to look at dead bodies and watch autopsies.

Los Angeles County Board of Governors are responding to fatal shootings in California schools.

Mayor Mike Antonovich who introduced the motion says children need to realise the damage guns can cause.

In a statement, Antonovich says: "Young people need to see the result of violent acts. Far too many youngsters are desensitised to violence. They need to realise it's not a movie or a video game when someone is shot."

He adds: "If they are old enough to bring a gun to school, they're old enough to tour the county coroner's office."

The motion, which also refers to schoolchildren who make terrorist threats, has been unanimously passed by the Board of Governors.

The programme will start within the next two to three months, Antonovich says.
