 Ananova:
Mobile phones could translate between languages

A mobile phone which can translate between one language and another when two people talk could soon be on the market.

German computer and language experts have already come up with a programme which can translate between two languages.

The Munich-based firm Sail Labs say their personal translator is a major advance.

They say it works because instead of translating each word separately it works with whole sentences and paragraphs - which makes it much more accurate.

They say a phone which can translate as you talk could soon be available as a result of the latest progress.
