 Ananova:
Woman loses 4st on burger diet

A Cheshire woman has shed four and a half stone - on a diet of cheeseburgers.

Midwife Heather Pointer, 33, from Macclesfield, made her own burgers with extra-lean meat and brown rolls, reports the Daily Mirror.

Ironically, it was burgers that caused Heather to balloon to 14 stone and a size 20 in the first place.

Thanks to her lightweight burgers, as well as more fruit and veg, she is now nine and a half stone and fits into size 10 dresses.

Ms Pointer took action after the shock of seeing photos of herself in Majorca last year.

She said: "People believe burgers are junk food but if they don't have to be fattening if they are made properly with the healthiest ingredients.

"I use extra lean mince, garlic and chillis. I grill them and have a wholemeal roll, a cheese slice and lean bacon. I have them three times a week."

Ms Pointer admitted her weight soared after gorging on takeaways during long shifts.

She added: "You just want quick, easy food. I would often go to Burger King and McDonald's for breakfast or lunch.

"When I saw the holiday photos I looked really big. It was such a shock. I didn't recognise myself. I feel so much healthier now."
