A North Wales couple were left stunned after getting a phone bill for more than £87,000. The bill dropped onto the doormat of Tyrone and Dawn Chadwick in Gronant near Prestatyn, reports the Daily Post. The Chadwicks, of Nant-y-Gro, were charged £74,585.39 plus VAT for a seven minute phone call to Chester. Mum-of-five Dawn, 36, said: "We felt slightly more than horrified. My husband had had a heart attack just after Christmas. If he had opened the envelope, he would have had another one. Our stress levels are quite high." After the bombshell bill, Mrs Chadwick said: "I tried ringing BT. First they said it was genuine. Then they said they thought it was a mistake and they would look into it. "We only rang Chester 30 miles up the road. This bill was beyond ridiculous. Our normal bill is only £35 a month." BT has now apologised to the Chadwicks and blamed the massive bill on a computer error. BT spokesman Jason Mann said: "We are arranging for the whole bill of £87,749.85 to be waived."
