A lollipop lady who dons fancy dress every year in the build up to Christmas has been told to stop because it is a health and safety risk. Margaret Russell, 54, has worn Christmas outfits for the past 20 years to raise money for the Mayor of Southampton's charity. The town's council have told her not to wear the costumes as they prevent her reflective clothing from being seen. According to The Sun Mrs Russell said: "If a motorist can't see a giant turkey or a giant snowman holding a lollipop, they shouldn't be driving." She has decided to stand on the side of the road collecting for charity while her boss works the crossing.
