A pet owner claimed she rescued her missing dog - with help from an animal psychic. Nikki Newcombe, 35, spent a week digging and using thermal imaging cameras to find her missing Jack Russell Marmite but failed. In desperation, she rang animal psychic Pea Horsley, 35, who claims to be able to telepathically communicate with any species. The clairvoyant claimed to see pictures of Marmite's location and the route he had taken, despite being 100 miles away, reports the Daily Telegraph. She said the dog was wedged in a man-made hole with water at the bottom and concrete around it. Miss Newcombe, a sales manager who lives with her daughter in Walsall, followed the route she thought the London-based psychic had described. She arrived at the locks of a disused canal a mile from her home, looked around and realised where the clairvoyant had meant her dog was trapped. Miss Newcombe found Marmite trapped in a shaft below the sluice gate and called for the fire service who managed to coax him out and rescue him. Marmite had lost some weight but was otherwise unharmed. Miss Newcombe said: "We did all the logical things to track him down, so we decided to resort to other means. I definitely believe in the psychic world now - it was incredible the way he was found." Miss Horsley said: "Just by connecting with Marmite I could get a sense that that he was still alive, but he was trapped somewhere. He felt cold, it was dark and he felt quite exhausted."
