A Tintin fan is set to follow his comic book hero by driving a vintage Jeep 5,000 miles to North Africa. Barrimore England-Davis, who sports a Tintin quiff, spent £6,500 renovating a classic red Willey's jeep, reports the Daily Mirror. Now the 33-year-old business analyst and his dog - called Snowy after Tintin's canine companion, will spend six weeks retracing the trail they took in Herge's 1939 comic Land of Black Gold. He said: "This is something I have always wanted to do. "I found a Jeep on the internet but the problem was that it was in Brittany. I had to drag it out of a barn and bring it home on a trailer before rebuilding the engine." Barrimore, of Bristol, will drive across Spain. He and his French co-driver will then head across the desert to Taroudant, Morocco.
