 Ananova:
ADHD number plate 'offensive'

A Swedish motorist has been banned from using the letters ADHD on her personalised number plate - over fears it would offend attention deficit suffers.

Maria Forsberg, 29, was told by transport officials in Sodertalje that the letters - short for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder - were "inappropriate".

Mikael Andersson of the Swedish Transport Agency, said: "Everything changes in society and this is the same for words and phrases that could be considered offensive."

But the ban has been branded daft by other drivers.

"What next for political correctness?" said one. "Anyone offended by that wouldn't have the attention span to make a complaint anyway."
