 Ananova:
Police hunt for dead curator's son

Police are hunting the son of a prominent British art curator after he was stabbed to death along with his daughter in Sydney.

The bodies of Nick Waterlow, 68, and his 37-year-old daughter Chloe, a cookbook author, were found alongside an injured toddler in a house in an affluent suburb of Sydney on Monday.

New South Wales police issued a photograph of a man seen leaving the house but would not confirm reports that it showed Mr Waterlow's son and Ms Waterlow's brother, Antony, 42.

Both victims suffered multiple stab wounds and a young girl, believed to be Ms Waterlow's two-year-old daughter, was also treated for a wound to her throat, police said.

The girl's two brothers, aged four and eight months, were also understood to be at the house at the time of the attack but were unharmed.

Chief Superintendent Geoff Beresford told reporters: "We don't believe it's a random attack. In fact we do have a person of interest in mind. We have concerns. We certainly say don't approach this person but contact police. Our hearts go out to the children that were in the house and certainly involved in this attack, and we're doing absolutely everything we can to bring this to a very quick resolution."

He said the children were not seriously injured but would spend "a day or two" in hospital while they were checked over.

Earlier, a New South Wales police spokesman said the bodies were discovered in a semi-detached house in Clovelly Road in Randwick in the Eastern Beaches suburb of Sydney shortly before 6pm local time on Monday (5am GMT).

He said: "A young girl was treated at the scene by paramedics. She was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for further treatment. She is believed to be the daughter of the woman, and granddaughter of the man, found deceased at the scene. A crime scene was established and an investigation under way into the circumstances surrounding the deaths. The deaths are being treated as suspicious."
