Worshippers watching a Vatican festival on TV picked up the soundtrack of a porn channel instead. Orgasmic moans were beamed to millions of Roman Catholic viewers across Italy, Spain and Latin America as they watched 20 cardinals saying mass, praying and singing hymns. And viewers expecting to hear the passionate moans of porn stars while watching Babes Illustrated and Stacey and the Hunt, instead heard holy incantations from The Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. A mistake at a satellite TV company in Luxembourg meant the Fantasy Channel and Vatican festival got their own pictures, but each other's soundtracks for two hours. Italian broadcaster RAI was supposed to send pictures and sound of the festival to its satellite for broadcast to Catholic audiences around the world. "It sounded like a very unfortunate mistake," said a spokesman for the Roman Catholic church. Deric Botham, managing editor of Television X, which produces The Fantasy Channel, said both porn movies contained "hot" material. "The film soundtrack was transmitted and it was really hard core stuff. It could not have been worse," he said. |
