Businessmen in the US town of Hell want to make use of its name to make it the Halloween capital of the world. The Michigan town is already popular with outsiders - its post office regularly attracts unhappy taxpayers who visit especially for the "Hell" post mark. Now local businessman John Colone is opening Screams which he describes as: "The scariest ice cream parlour on earth." The chamber of commerce is also getting in on the act, allowing its offices to become haunted every 30 minutes - they will be racked with haunting sounds, bumps and other spooky sights and sounds, The Detroit News reports. Pam Kekes, who has lived in Hell since 1988, says she likes the direction Mr Colone is taking the town. She said: "Basically, Hell has always had that concept. I think John Colone is trying to create much more of a family atmosphere as opposed to the way it had been previously." |
