An Australian gave birth after going to hospital with what she thought was simply severe stomach pains. Lyndsey Favell had no idea she was pregnant when she went to hospital on her 23rd birthday, thinking she was suffering from a tummy bug. But within minutes of arriving at Joondalup Health Campus in Perth, she had given birth to a baby boy in the public toilets at the hospital's emergency department. Ms Favell said: "I had him in the toilet. I screamed and everybody came in." She said she had no idea she was pregnant. She had only put on a little weight and had not suffered morning sickness during her full-term pregnancy, the Sydney Morning Herald reports. "I did put on a bit of weight but I just thought it was normal," she said. "It was a huge shock." Baby Jordan, who weighed 5lb 9oz, is Ms Favell and her partner Stacey Johnston's first child. |
