George Bush's unfashionable Republican Party has a new, unwelcome, ally for the youth vote - hardcore shock rocker Marilyn Manson.

The party, known for its right-wing fringe membership and conservative moral majority, have long since trailed rivals the Democrats in the celebrity stakes. Hollywood's beautiful people refer to the Republicans as the "evil" party.

Manson has told Talk Magazine, "If Ihad to pick, I'd pick Bush and not necessarily by default."

New convert Manson is unlikely to make an appearcance at a party convention though.

He normally wears fake rubber breasts and freaky goth make-up on stage.

Manson was also blamed for twisting the minds of "Trenchcoat Mafia" teenagers that ended in the Colombine school massacre.
