George Michael reportedly refused to have his picture taken with EastEnders actor Shane Richie.

Michael, who is a big fan of the soap, had been invited to attend the show's Christmas party at Elstree studios.

He was introduced to the cast, but when he was asked by photographers to pose with Richie, he said: "No", according to the The Daily Mirror.

Richie's version of Michael's I'm Your Man is at number 3 in the charts.

The Mirror says Michael didn't give a reason for his refusal to pose with Richie but speculates it may have been because of comments made by Richie while promoting the song for Children in Need.

In one interview Richie said: "I think the ladies feel they have a better chance with me than with George Michael, if you know what I mean."
