Sara Cox has told listeners to her BBC Radio 1 show that she is three months pregnant.

The Breakfast Show host, married to club DJ Jon Carter, broke the news and said: "It's so exciting."

Cox is due to leave the early morning slot on December 24 to be replaced by fellow Radio 1 host Chris Moyles.

She is moving to the afternoon show in the New Year, in a straight swap with Moyles.
