Melinda Messenger has become a mother for the third time after giving birth to her first daughter.

The baby, named Evie, was born yesterday - almost a fortnight early - and weighed in at 6lb 7oz.

Messenger, 32, first found fame as a topless model before carving out a TV career.

She and husband Wayne have sons Morgan, who is three and a half, and Flynn, who will be two in February.

A spokeswoman for the star said: "The birth was without complications apart from Wayne nearly fainting."

She added: "Melinda is delighted Evie decided to arrive early, allowing her to enjoy Christmas at home."
