Two Germans claim to have discovered the recipe for Coca Cola, supposedly one of the most jealously-guarded secrets in the world. Udo Pollmer and Susanne Warmuth say they successfully used chemistry techniques to break the fizzy drink into its components. In their book, "Encyclopaedia of popular diet myths' the pair lay out exactly what they found in the drink. The most difficult part of the equation, they say, was the aroma, which they say includes coca leaves, lime, coffee and cocoa distillations, mandarin leaf tincture and a little ginger. Other ingredients include mimosa tree bark, cinnamon and vanilla as well as a special aromatic oil. |
