 Ananova:
Rhinos too strong for Hull

Leeds produced another rugby league masterclass to inflict a 30-4 defeat on Hull at the KC Stadium.

Rob Burrow, Brent Webb and Lee Smith crossed in the first half, and with Kevin Sinfield converting all three tries the Rhinos led 18-0 at the break.

Carl Ablett and Sinfield, who improved both scores, then added to the misery of the injury-hit hosts, who got a late consolation try from Gareth Raynor.

St Helens let slip a 14-0 lead to lose more ground on Super League leaders Leeds as they slumped to a 28-26 defeat against Huddersfield - their third defeat of the season.

The Giants halted a three-match losing run to pull off one of the upsets of the season, prop Darrell Griffin returning from suspension to score two of their five tries and doubling his tally for the club.

Paul Wellens, Chris Flannery, Leon Pryce and James Roby touched down for Saints, but the Giants never gave in and tries from Jamahl Lolesi, Paul Whatuira, Rod Jensen and Griffin's brace helped them secure a famous win.

A 76th-minute score by Mark Calderwood helped Wigan banish the memory of the Good Friday mauling at St Helens by wrapping up a hard-fought 18-12 victory over Hull KR at the JJB Stadium.

Liam Colbon's early try was the difference at the halfway mark as good defence, handling errors and the whistle of referee Ben Thaler was the order of the day.

Warrington kept up the pressure on engage Super League leaders Leeds following a 34-31 victory over Castleford thanks to a last-minute try from second row Louis Anderson.

Bottom club Castleford were 31-30 ahead until brothers Mark and Martin Gleeson linked to put Anderson in for a dramatic last-gasp winner.
