Tommy Mooney grabbed his fifth goal in four games to help Swindon to a 2-1 win at Notts County. The striker forced his way between two defenders to head home from close range and take his tally for the season to 14. It was cruel on Notts County, who went in at half-time trailing to a Brian Howard strike. He slotted home after David Duke's cross rebounded at his feet off defender Nick Fenton. County's equaliser was a hotly-disputed penalty, converted calmly by in-form forward Paul Heffernan. The Irish striker got up to notch his 11th goal of the season after he was felled in the box by Swindon player-coach Alan Reeves. Despite pushing hard for an equaliser at the death, the home side were unable to break down Swindon's stubborn defence and remain deep in relegation trouble.
