Derby manager George Burley has signed Sheffield United striker Paul Peschisolido on a two-year deal and he will go straight into the side who host Rotherham.
However, Burley will be without Manel. The Spanish striker sits out the first of a three-game ban after he was sent off in the 2-0 defeat at Coventry a fortnight ago.
On-loan defender Rob Edwards is struggling with a chest infection, although new signing Jeff Kenna is a ready-made replacement and is expected to start.
Rotherham boss Ronnie Moore welcomes new signing Phil Gilchrist into his side for the trip.
But winger Andy Monkhouse must serve a one-match suspension after being booked five times this season.
Skipper Martin McIntosh is sidelined after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament, while Rob Scott (knee ligaments) is still short of match fitness.
