Preview: Batley Bulldogs v Whitehaven

Batley Bulldogs will add more bulk to their pack for the Powergen Challenge Cup fifth round clash with Whitehaven at Mount Pleasant.

Head coach Gary Thornton has plans to bring ex-Featherstone heavyweight prop Chris Molyneux back after injury in order to try and match the Cumbrians up front.

"Whitehaven have a big pack so we must try to combat this with some extra size in the forwards, so bringing Chris back into the squad will give us that little bit more weight in the front row" said Thornton, who will switch either Steve Hill or David Rourke into the back row.

Mark Cass is expected to retain his place on the bench as the replacement back, along with assistant coach Paul Harrison and experienced Sean Richardson, so Molyneux's inclusion could be at the expense of one of Will Cartledge, Andy Spink, or Andy Rice.

Whitehaven are without Chris McKinney (ribs) and Jamie Marshall (ankle) with coach Steve McCormack likely to choose from John Lebbon, Mark Wallace or Craig Chambers as replacements.
