 Ananova:
Celtic celebrate famous win

FT: Barcelona 0 Celtic 0 (Agg: 0-1)

Celtic pulled off one of the greatest results in their history, holding on for a 1-0 aggregate win over Barcelona.

The weakened Hoops were under intense pressure for most of the match at the Nou Camp.

But Barca were foiled by Celtic's teenage goal-keeper David Marshall and some superb defending as the second leg ended 0-0 on the night.

Celtic will play Villarreal in the next round after the Spanish team beat Roma in another fourth round tie.

Here's how our commentary unfolded.

THAT'S IT! One of Celtic's greatest matches in their history.

Barcelona dominated and it looked certain they would score against a weakened Celtic side, but the Hoops teenage goal-keeper David Marshall and his dogged defenders saw off the Spaniards. Fabulous stuff!

91 mins: Barca corner, Celtic clear. Pearson breaks and Celtic get a corner.

90 mins: Three minutes of stoppage time!

88 mins: Ronaldinho booked for fouling Petrov. Even with two minutes to go you wouldn't like to say Celtic have won this. What a thriller!

86 mins: Petrov booked - probably for faking an injury. He was poleaxed for a minute then when Celtic broke he suddenly ran to claim the ball.

85 mins: Free-kick for Barcelona in front of goal 20 yards out - Ronaldinho fouled. He hits the free-kick straight at the wall.

82 mins: Celtic sub: Sylla on for Sutton.

80 mins: Super tackle by Varga in the penalty area to halt jinking Sergio Garcia. Newcastle 2-0 up (6-1 agg) - Bellamy scores.

76 mins: Celtic playing far too deep, giving the ball away as soon as they get it - it's squeaky bum time for Hoops fans.

75 mins: Sergio Garcia cracks a shot 20 yards out and Marshall dives to his left to palm it clear.

73 mins: Sergio Garcia heads just wide from five yards out - a difficult chance.

69 mins: Save of the match so far by Marshall. Tips over a Luis Garcia volley over the bar. Striker was unmarked in the box; Celtic hanging on.

67 mins: Ronaldinho bewitches the Celtic defence with a stuttering run into the penalty area but he's forced to the by-line and Marshall blocks his cross. Then the keeper blocks a fierce shot with his body.

63 mins: Barcelona sub: Enrique off, Sergio Garcia on. Marseille 2 Liverpool 1 (Agg: 3-2 to the French team).

62 mins: Luis Garcia cross from the right is aimed for Enrique on the edge of the six-yard box but Marshall snaffles the ball from Enrique's feet.

61 mins: Great break by Petrov from halfway to the edge of the Barca area, he passes right to Pearson in the penalty area but his shot is straight at the keeper.

58 mins: Final ball is poor by Barca but Celtic defenders are putting in some superb tackles.

54 mins: Spanish team still starving Celtic of possession but their build-up is more patient than in the first half and the Hoops look more comfortable.

52 mins: Barca sub: Overmars on for Reiziger. Shearer has put Newcastle ahead in Mallorca - 1-0 on the night, 5-1 on aggregate.

51 mins: Celtic sub: McNamara limps off and Miller comes on - the youngster joins Manchester United next season and it wasn't thought he'd play for Celtic again as he's been injured.

50 mins: Agathe breaks with Larsson and Sutton either side of him and only three defenders in front, but he delays his pass and is tackled on the edge of the penalty area.

HALF-TIME: Celtic drew Barca's sting early on and at the end of the half, with teenage keeper David Marshall outstanding.

But the Hoops looked fraught at times and need to keep the ball. It's going to be a humdinger of a second half - join us in 15 minutes.

45 (+1) mins: Frantic ending to the half - Garcia unmarked in the penalty fails to control the ball, Reiziger tries a long-range shot, there's another scramble in the penalty box and McNamara makes a cracking tackle.

45 mins: Kennedy makes a superb tackle on the edge of the penalty area as Ronaldinho tries to weave his way through Celtic's defence.

39 mins: Marseille equalise with a penalty against Liverpool. It's 1-1 on the night, 2-2 on aggregate. Biscan sent off.

37 mins: Without tempting fate, Barca not looking as dangerous as they did at the start - their passes are going astray. But Celtic are struggling to keep the ball.

33 mins: Barcelona sub: Marquez on for Puyol who looks to be limping.

31 mins: Celtic seeing a bit more of the ball without creating any clear-cut chances. The Hoops have done well to resist the early Barca onslaught.

25 mins: Celtic players pressured as soon as they get the ball, Barca charging forward in numbers.

21 mins: Barca fans bay for a penalty as Ronaldinho is brought down. Sliding tackle by Kennedy from the left, he got the ball. Good call by the ref - he's allowing plenty of robust challenges tonight.

Celtic defending becoming rather frantic as Barca gallop forward in numbers.

16 mins: Heskey has put Liverpool ahead in Marseille - 1-0 on the night, 2-1 on aggregate to the Reds.

12 mins: Marshall again saves Celtic - tips over a Garcia shot-cum-cross then scrambles the resulting corner clear as Enrique struggles to control the ball six yards out.

9 mins: Ronaldinho cross from the left finds Luis Enrique on the penalty spot. He heads towards goal but Marshall does well to crouch and collect the ball.

5 mins: Puyol makes a crucial tackle on the edge of the penalty area to deny Larsson - Celtic's first chance, Barcelona playing at breakneck speed and hogging possession.

2 mins: Marshall makes a superb save to deny Gerard. Barcelona player looked like he was trying to walk it into the net but the Celtic keeper dived and pawed the ball away from his feet on the six-yard box.
