 Ananova:
Steadman seeking greater discipline

Castleford coach Graham Steadman will demand better discipline from his winless side after feeling they gifted a 24-6 victory to Hull.

Steadman believed his side were just six points worse than Hull but mistakes handed the home side four tries inside the first 35 minutes.

"It is so frustrating," said Steadman.

"The second-half performance was much improved - the guys were giving Hull the lead which was not a true reflection of how we were playing.

"To concede the three tries, two from kicks when we did not protect our full-back and one from an offload was disappointing."

But Steadman said his side had not gone backwards after promising performances in recent defeats at Warrington and St Helens.

"I don't think it is a step back, if you look at the scoreline you might think that, but not if you had been here and witnessed it.

"If you look at the game and the chances created, in terms of defence structure we were better than they were, but we didn't have that bit of fortune that they had. Hull also executed better and had a better kicking game."

Hull coach Shaun McRae said his side had deserved to win but admitted their performance in the second half, when Castleford matched them 4-4 and got the only try from Michael Smith, was disappointing.

"You can do as much talking as you like in a changing room, but players know when a game is pretty much over," he explained.

"I thought we got it right tonight, it was pretty good. We were dominant and certainly deserved a victory."
